The Clean Cup Rinses Your Balls

I was never a great fan of the sport of beer pong, because honestly, if I want to drink beer, I’m not going to huck a ball into a cup of beer. I’m just going to drink the beer. But, everybody has their own fun, and there are reasonable concerns about hygiene when a ball is hitting a dorm room floor on a regular basis. Hence, the Clean Cup.

Clean Yer Balls

It’s a fairly simple tool to use. Built to resemble the bastard spawn of a red Solo cup and a blender, you simply drop your balls into the cup, press a button, and let it do the rest. The Clean Cup hoses the ball down with a load of water, blasts it with air, and spits it back out, ready to be tossed into a small amount of cheap beer nobody would drink if it weren’t for beer pong.

Balls Up

It is actually designed to scrub the ball thoroughly; it even includes a filter that’s reusable and easily removed to catch the nastier bugs. It even is battery-powered and built to be portable, so that you can easily put it on a tabletop and have it scrub down everyone’s balls. Still, there is the valid question of whether you need this.

Air Balls

But how concerned should you be? Well, that depends on how long the ball sits on the floor. Scientists have recently proved the five-second rule correct, but it’s not clear if repeated exposure to what’s reliably one of the nastiest places you can bounce your balls might collect hidden nasties. But really, why risk it? Especially when, for just $65, you get not only proper sanitation, but permission to make an endless litany of tasteless jokes? Not that we’d ever do such a thing, of course.

Soto Torch Turns Lighters Into Useful Tools

Soto
If you’re camping, hiking, or just have a recalcitrant stove, you need a reliable source of fire. A lighter would seem to fit the bill, but lighters, as campers quickly learn, aren’t built to do anything other than light a pile of charcoal or a cigarette. This is where the Soto Pocket Torch comes in handy.

Lighter To Torch

The Soto Pocket Torch is actually fairly brilliant in how it’s designed. A lighter is slipped into a plastic sleeve, and the torch attachment is fitted over it. Just hit the button and you’ve got a more intense flame directed at a right angle to your thumb, already vastly superior to your basic lighter. The heat is so intense you can actually melt small bits of metal.

Torch It

Why, precisely, would you want a tiny, focused flame while camping? Well, beyond the obvious of fire-starting, users report the torch being excellent for sealing paracord ends, spot repairs on metal objects, cutting rope, and other useful jobs that you might want to have done around the house or on the campsite. Honestly, it’s far better than a lot of camping torches you might find, not least due to the relative cost of fuel and tools, but there are some problems worth being aware of.

One Lighter To Fit Them All

First, how it works will depend heavily on your elevation; the higher up you are, the trickier to get it to light it will be. Secondly, for some odd reason known only to Soto, these are engineered only to accept the square lighters you see at gas stations, not the commonplace Bics every smoker actually uses.
Still, if you need a torch, and you probably need a torch, there are few options as cost effective and smartly done as Soto’s. Especially for $20, it’s hard to beat.

Ultrapak Tour Gets Your Phone Charged Fast

ultrapak
Dead batteries on your phone are always annoying, but the problem can get a lot worse when you’ve got the battery, and your phone takes forever to get charged up. Sometimes you’re impatient, sometimes you just need to get on the horn fast, but if you need power in your phone, you probably need an Ultrapak Tour.

Power Up

It’s pretty straightforward. The Ultapak Tour is just a bit bigger than your iPhone, and thus built for being carried around in bags and pockets, and packs an enormous 10,000 mAh charge. That in of itself would make it handy to have in your travel bag, but it actually gets better, in that you can get your charge much faster and more conveniently than you might expect.

Speed Equals Power

Essentially, the Tour is designed to get your phone back up and running extremely fast. If you just want to get it up to 2000 mAh, which is generally enough power to make calls and send texts on modern phones, that will take just 15 minutes for the iPhone. If you want a full charge on your phone, that’ll take 95 minutes, but it beats waiting for hours for your phone to fill up on a charger, and this you can take on the go. Furthermore, it recharges in just fifteen minutes, saving you some aggravation.

Battery Backup

Not everybody needs a battery backup, but if you’re a road warrior, are away from outlets for most of the day, or just use your phone heavily, they can be a life saver. And this even has a useful little widget on the front that tells you just how full your backup battery is. So, really, if you’re ever in need of a charge, this little battery appears to be the best friend you can possibly have.
